We’re pleased to announce that the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has granted a portfolio manager licence to Marcuard Heritage AG. FINMA is Switzerland’s independent financial-markets regulator with a mandate to supervise financial institutions, such as banks, asset managers, and portfolio managers.

An early adopter

The new licencing requirements for portfolio managers will improve the already excellent reputation of the Swiss wealth management industry, which is why we were one of the first to apply for and receive the licence. As of 1 December 2021, only some 40 of about 2’000 portfolio managers and trustees domiciled in Switzerland had received the licence from FINMA.

We believe the FINMA licence gives us a competitive advantage. It reinforces our foothold in the industry and could lead to new opportunities for our group and for new relationship managers who join us. As part of an international financial group with prudentially supervised sister companies in Europe, Singapore, and Switzerland, we welcome the new requirements and made obtaining a FINMA licence as early as possible a high priority.
